My sculptures, more than pieces of stone, are expressive and have personalities that invite the viewer to respond. The viewer quickly imagines an environment for the sculpture and is thereby engaged in a participatory creative process. The poses of the sculptures only portray a moment suggesting something has happened. This momentary pose allows the viewer to create his own scenario to come.

Sculpture has become Fred’s favourite form of art, which he started twenty years ago. His paintings, prints, and stone sculptures are in private and corporate collections throughout the world. Corporate clients such as Deloitte Touche, Thompson Group, Carswell Publishing, and The Ontario Hospital Association, College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Ritz Carleton Hotel Toronto, and The City of Barrie, have purchased Fred’s work for corporate gifts and awards. He is a member of sculpture organizations in western Canada and Ontario. Fred has participated in group-shows and solo shows but most of his art has been produced and sold as commissions.

Fred has donated several pieces to such worthy causes as:

  • The Bobby Baun Celebrity Golf Classic for The Bob Rumble Camp for the Deaf
  • The Starlight Children’s Foundation
